| Description: | The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is seeking a Director of Communications at its Middle East Center in Beirut, Lebanon to raise the profile and impact of Carnegie’s policy research work in the Middle East. The Director will develop and lead the Center’s communications effort, including overseeing day to day operations, content editing and publication, conferences and events, and regional relations including press, TV, web and social media. Position will lead a communications team of 3 others.
The Director should have 8-10 years’ strategic communications experience, an in-depth understanding of and interest in Middle Eastern and international affairs, and a wide range of contacts in the Middle East, including media and familiarity with the region’s print, TV and web outlets. Ability to write and edit at a high level in English and Arabic required; French is a plus. Proven leadership and organizational skills and an energetic personality with strong interpersonal skills who will thrive in a team environment essential.
