| Description: | Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a leading think tank specializing in international affairs with global operations, is seeking a resourceful and energetic individual to join our Development (Fundraising) team. Position will conduct donor prospecting and research (by request and proactively) using internet, print, electronic, files, internal and external databases, and other sources of information to build a donor pool of foundations, corporations, government agencies (domestic and international), and individuals. Responsibilities will also include drafting research profiles; creating and updating databases; assisting with the preparation of prospect briefings; organizing, sorting and prospects; monitoring open calls for proposals, news about current donors and prospects, and trends/developments in philanthropic community; and participating in the development and execution of cultivation and stewardship mailings, meetings, and events.
Ideal candidate will have at least five years� experience in conducting prospect research; demonstrated skills in identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing prospects; ability to analyze and synthesize research; experience with and knowledge of broad uses of donor databases and contacts management; ability to oversee data integrity and to coordinate systems that improve efficiency; and outstanding planning, written and oral communication, time management and organizational skills. Must be able to work cooperatively with other departments and anticipate information needs and have strong MS Office skills. Strong interest in international affairs desirable.
