| Description: | The Carnegie Middle East Center, as an integral part of the growing global network of regional centers of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, strives to be a leading source of non-partisan, timely, innovative policy analysis and outreach on the main challenges relating to the political and economic development of the Middle East.
Carnegie seeks a Senior Resident Scholar with expertise in the field of educational reform in the Arab world; will lead a multi-year project analyzing the deficits of Arab educational systems in preparing young people not only for jobs but also for the responsibility of citizenship; will also be expected to help develop a network of educational reformers and work with them on strategies for encouraging educational reform in different Arab countries. Based in Beirut, this position will report to the Center�s director, but will also work closely with Carnegie�s Vice President for the Middle East in Washington, DC.
Preferred candidates will have:
� A substantial record of distinguished policy-relevant research and writing
� Proven ability to communicate effectively with policy communities in the Middle East as well as the United States and Europe
� A Ph.D. or equivalent
� At least seven years of post-educational work experience
� Fluency in Arabic
