| Description: | The Carnegie Middle East Center, as an integral part of the growing global network of regional centers of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, strives to be a leading source of non-partisan, timely, innovative policy analysis and outreach on the main challenges relating to the political and economic development of the Middle East.
Carnegie seeks a Senior Resident Scholar with expertise on the intersections between economics and politics in the Arab world; key areas of expertise include the political economy of the Arab state and the role of economic factors in political reform processes. Based in Beirut, this position will report to the Center�s director, but will also be part of a network of Carnegie scholars in Washington, DC and Beirut.
Preferred candidates will have:
� A substantial record of distinguished policy-relevant research and writing
� Proven ability to communicate effectively with policy communities in the Middle East as well as the United States and Europe
� A Ph.D. or equivalent
� At least seven years of post-educational work experience
� Fluency in Arabic
